Diamond painting is a relatively new hobby craft that arrived on the scene a few years ago. It is a little bit like a cross between traditional cross stitch and painting by numbers. Each diamond painting kit comes with a number of coloured resin beads known as "drills" as well as a sticky canvas that resembles what a cross stitch pattern typically looks like.

Each of the coloured drills corresponds to a symbol found on the canvas. You simply stick a drill colour on the matching symbol on the canvas. Each canvas can come with anywhere from 5 to 50 or more colours depending on the diamond painting kit size.
